Ans: Tree plantation means planting saplings beside houses, along the road sides and on parks and gardens. Trees are important for us in many ways. Trees supply us oxygen without which we cannot live. They give us food, shelter and medicine. They save the forces from cyclone and storms. They help to cause rain. They prevent a region from becoming a desert. Trees maintain ecological balance which is very important for our environment. Trees take in carbon dioxide, produce oxygen and prevent air pollution. They provide habitats the birds and wild animals which are important elements of the natural environment. We get food and timber from trees. We also get deferent kinds of fruits. In the absence of tress, the climate of the country will be extreme one. There will be less rainfall. Ultimately the country will turn into a desert. Environment will lose its balance. As a result devastating cyclone like sidor will occur in the country. We should make the people conscious of the importance of tree plantation every year. Everyman should plant at least one sapling. The media must telecast programmes highlighting the adverse effect of deforestation. Trees are our best friends. We should plant more trees to save ourselves from disasters. Where there is tree there is life.
বঙ্গানুবাদ : বৃক্ষরোপণ অর্থ বাড়ির পাশে রাস্তার ধার বরাবর ও উদ্যান বাগানে চারা গাছ লাগানো। বৃক্ষ নানাভাবে আমাদের উপকার করে। বৃক্ষ আমাদের অক্সিজেন সরবরাহ করে যা ছাড়া আমরা বাঁচতে পারি না। ঐগুলো আমাদের খাদ্য, আশ্রয় ও ঔষধ প্রদান করে। ঐগুলো ঘূর্ণিঝড় ও ঝড়ের বেগ থেকে রক্ষা করে। ঐগুলো বৃষ্টি ঘটাতে সাহায্য করে। ঐগুলো মরুভূমি হওয়া থেকে একটি অঞ্চলকে প্রতিরোধ করে। বৃক্ষ ইকোলজিক্যাল ভারসাম্য রক্ষা করে যা আমাদের পরিবেশের জন্য অনেক উপকারী বৃক্ষ কার্বন-ডাই-অক্সাইড শোষণ করে অক্সিজেন উৎপন্ন করে এবং বায়ু দূষণ রোধ করে। সেগুলো আমাদের পাখি ও বন্য পশুর যোগান দেয় যা প্রাকৃতিক পরিবেশের ভারসাম্য রক্ষায় অন্যতম উপাদান । আমরা বৃক্ষ থেকে খাদ্য ও কাঠ পাই। আমরা নানারকম ফলমূলও পাই। বৃক্ষ ব্যতীত একটি দেশের জলবায়ু চরম আকার ধারণ করে। সেখানে স্বল্প বৃষ্টি হবে। নিশ্চিতভাবে দেশটি মরুভূমিতে পরিণত হবে। পরিবেশ তার ভারসাম্য হারিয়ে ফেলবে। ফলে সিডরের ন্যায় মারাত্মক ঘূর্ণিঝড় দেশে সংঘটিত হবে । আমাদের প্রতিবছর লোকজনদের বৃক্ষরোপণের গুরুত্ব সম্পর্কে সচেতন করতে হবে। প্রতিটি লোককে কমপক্ষে একটি করে চারাগাছ লাগানো উচিত। মরুকরণের প্রতিকূল প্রভাব গণমাধ্যমে অবশ্যই ঘটা করে প্রচার করতে হবে। বৃক্ষ হলো আমাদের সবচেয়ে ভালো বন্ধু। আমাদের দুর্যোগ থেকে নিজেদের রক্ষা করতে অধিক পরিমাণ বৃক্ষরোপণ করা উচিত। যেখানে বৃক্ষ, সেখানে জীবন।
